About the Course
Natural resources are a potentially transformative opportunity to sustain development, but they are essentially finite. How can we develop our economies without damaging the planet? In this 12-week course, developed by Nexus International University, you will learn about efforts to manage investments in the extractive sector in a sustainable way while taking account of the global energy transition. You will recognise the dynamic and interwoven facets of the governance of natural resources and become part of a global movement of people and practitioners dedicated to taking advantage of the transformative impacts of our natural resources and beyond.

Teaching, learning, & assessment
This module will be taught in 12 weeks. The module will provide a conceptual underpinning for every Nexus
International University student – energy transition is going to happen during the lifetime of our graduates. It underpins the same issues which will arise in the specialist modules – the importance of this module is that it draws together the
extractive industry issues into the story of global energy transition. The idea is that module contributes to the Nexus
University International student identity – it gives everyone a common grounding in the inevitable changes coming in the future. Towards providing a Certificate of Performance, the module will be assessed on a pass/fail basis given its foundational character. There will be an online assessment (two hours) to cover the breadth of the module.
