ABOUT THE COURSE

The course aims to equip students with the necessary tools to optimize inventory management processes, minimize operational costs, and improve overall efficiency.
COURSE AIM
Fundamental Certificate in Inventory and Warehouse Management is to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge required to effectively manage inventory and warehouse operations. The course objectives include: Understanding the principles and practices of inventory management, Learning how to optimize inventory levels to minimize operational costs, Gaining knowledge of warehouse layout and design to improve efficiency and productivity, Becoming proficient in the use of inventory management software to streamline processes, Developing the ability to make data-driven decisions to improve inventory management practices.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Module 1: Managing inventory flows in the supply chain
- Module 2: Inventory monitoring and control
- Module 3: Inbound and outbound material flows
- Module 4: Critical warehousing processes: (i.e. order picking strategies and methods, hardware e.g. storage and material handling technologies/equipment).
- Module 5: Software systems: ERP/MRP systems
- Module 6: EOQ, Pareto inventory policies, and k-curve methodologies
- Module 7: Warehouse design, the inventory optimization
- Module 8: Lean management principle that helps in reducing wastes (of time, space and resources) in warehousing operations.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
- You will be able to use advanced techniques to reduce inventory and associated storage and handling costs. Participants will also have covered material from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport unit on warehousing and inventory and may
- be able to join a fast- track programme for this professional qualification if desired.
