Description
A practical 10-week short course designed for city and municipal mayors to strengthen their leadership capacity, visioning, and governance effectiveness. The programme equips participants with tools to inspire communities, mobilise resources, manage change, and deliver inclusive urban development.
What You Will Learn (6 modules)
● Module 1 — Foundations of Transformational Leadership: leadership styles, values, ethics, and the role of mayors in shaping urban futures.
● Module 2 — Visioning and Strategic Planning: crafting compelling city visions, aligning with national development plans, and mobilising stakeholders.
● Module 3 — Inclusive Governance and Citizen Engagement: participatory decision-making, community dialogues, and mechanisms for accountability.
● Module 4 — Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships: leveraging local revenue, donor support, PPPs, and innovative financing for city projects.
● Module 5 — Change Management and Resilience: leading reforms, managing resistance, building resilient institutions and adaptive urban systems.
● Module 6 — Impact Measurement and Legacy Building: monitoring leadership outcomes, documenting achievements, and sustaining reforms beyond tenure.

● Applied assessment: submit a city vision document, a stakeholder engagement plan and a leadership impact framework.
